Grace's Photo Sesh

My dear sister Grace is putting her mission papers in soon (woo hoo!!) and everybody knows when you go on a mission, you need a photo shoot! Being the frugal family that we are (okay, Grace is really the only frugal one), she had me take her pictures. We had a big fun day of beautifying before the new and improved Grace, bossy photographer Anne, and assistant Mom headed out into the (only) sun(ny day in July). It was super fun taking pics of my hilarious sister, and she and my mom had great attitudes, considering I was very bossy and occasionally somewhat offensive (at one point, I may have barked, "But now SMILE!").

There was laughter...

And there were tears...

But most of all, there was adorable Grace. :)

My dad, who normally isn't big on complimenting, even said she'll probably get sent to Temple Square now. ;) Of course we know these pictures won't really factor into where she's sent, and we can't wait until she gets her call and we find out where she will spend a year and a half! *Proud sister moment*

7th Post - Woo?

Well, readers, it's that time... I've reached my seventh post! I'm doing great at blogging, I know. I promise to be better when I go to Italy and have more exciting things to share, okay?
This summer, I've been trying to be more productive artistically. At college, I really missed crafts. I mean, I REALLY missed crafts (is bold, italic, caps lock, and underline too much?). So I've been making the most of my resources on my days off and starting (not necessarily finishing) a few projects.
A while ago, I decided I'd whip out the ol' paint brushes and try my hand at painting a pigeon. After all, I've been called Pigeon all my life, so it was kind of a self-portrait. Win-win. Now, painting has never been a strong point for me. I took an art class in summer school to make up credits for seminary one time. That's all the instruction I've ever had. And all this is a way of saying don't judge.

The bigger pigeon was the original, but then I saw these tiny canvases at Walmart and wanted to buy them sooooo bad! Because what's better than tiny art supplies? So mini-pidge was born. It turns out painting on a canvas that small is really hard. Especially with the sad brush selection my family owns. Anyway, this was one of my summer projects - next up: Adventures in sewing!

That day I got really bored...

Today, I was SO bored. I don't work on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and usually I look forward to these days with a twinkle in my eye. I get to sleep in and hang out with my family or friends. However, today my whole family is either on the trek or at work. All my friends are either at work or refusing to hang out with me *cough*. And I am all alone. It could've been a really productive day. But what did I do?

I made my yoga pants less flared. Yay for sewing machines. And blurry self-taken pictures(?).

I tried to take my horribly behaved dogs on a walk in the rain to show off my yoga pants triumph. Unfortunately, my dogs are even worse at going on walks in the rain than in nice weather. So after a block, I carried Nugget home with Abbey trailing along slowly behind me. But it was a good effort!

I ate this healthy-ish mug cake. Not that great, but only 2 WW Points Plus! And while I ate, I watched...

How I Met Your Mother! Which probably put us over our WiFi limit for the month... Sorry, family. That's what you get for leaving me alone. But, look! I paused the theme song on this BAD PICTURE OF BARNEY STINSON! I didn't even do it on purpose! And then I watched season 5 episode 18: Say Cheese. And I felt cool.

And then I watched the music videos my friends and I made for each other on Photo Booth months ago. Yes, one involves Irish dancing. And yes, Kristin is wearing headphones, thereby blocking out the sound - silent movie, anyone? p.s. I now have the urge to cut my hair like it is in the bottom right video. Thoughts?
